KDE Plasma, GNOME, and a SteamOS-like 'Gaming Mode' handheld interface

Bazzite applies the Universal Blue project's atomic-image approach (the same infrastructure behind Bluefin and Aurora) specifically to gaming, pre-loading gaming-optimized kernels, GPU drivers (both NVIDIA and AMD variants are built), Proton-GE, and emulation tools, and offering a SteamOS-style 'Gaming Mode' controller interface as an alternative to a conventional desktop. It's become particularly popular on handheld gaming PCs (the same device category the Steam Deck popularized, from other manufacturers), effectively acting as an unofficial SteamOS replacement for hardware Valve doesn't officially support. Its immutable base means the same resilience-against-breakage benefits as Bluefin/Aurora, just aimed at a gaming-first use case.
