ChimeraOS (formerly known as GamerOS) set out early to solve the same problem Bazzite later approached from a different (Fedora/Universal Blue) angle: give arbitrary PC hardware the same instant-on, controller-first, console-like gaming experience Valve built for the Steam Deck specifically. It uses an Arch base with an A/B image update scheme for resilience, auto-detects and configures controllers and game launchers (Steam, Lutris, emulators) with minimal manual setup, and boots straight into a big-picture-style gaming interface by default. It's a common choice for turning a spare PC or a handheld gaming device into a dedicated, low-maintenance game console.
