Emmabuntüs

Emmabuntüs was created in partnership with Emmaüs, a French charitable organization that refurbishes donated computers for people who can't otherwise afford one, and it's built specifically around that mission: it targets older, often low-spec donated hardware, includes tools tailored for computer refurbishment and imaging at scale, and ships a curated set of accessible, easy-to-use software for recipients who may be entirely new to computing. It's maintained in two parallel editions -- one Debian-based, one Ubuntu-based -- and remains one of the more directly socially-mission-driven distributions in active development, distinct from most other entries here that are built primarily around a technical rather than charitable goal.
