Septor pairs Debian's Testing branch with a full KDE Plasma desktop, routing web traffic through Tor and Privoxy while including tools like OnionShare for anonymous file sharing and Ricochet for anonymous messaging alongside the Tor Browser itself. Unlike Tails' deliberately minimal, amnesic approach, Septor behaves like a normal, persistent, richly featured desktop that happens to have privacy tooling built in -- a fit for users who want Tor-based browsing without giving up a conventional desktop environment day to day. It's maintained by a single developer and distributed through SourceForge rather than a dedicated infrastructure team.
