AQBot

AQBot is a Windows desktop client for interacting with AI models through compatible services. It combines an AI chat interface with gateway functions for connecting to multiple providers. It is intended for people who use AI conversations, compare model responses, or need controlled AI assistance with files, commands, and code.

The client supports OpenAI-compatible APIs, including services associated with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini. It can fetch model lists remotely and lets users set parameters such as temperature, maximum tokens, and top-p. Multiple API keys can be configured for a provider, with round-robin rotation to distribute rate-limit pressure. Responses can stream token by token, and thinking blocks can be folded or expanded when available. Users can create response versions, branch conversations from individual messages, and organize conversations through pinning, archiving, time-based grouping, and batch operations.

AQBot also provides tools for comparing model behavior and managing long sessions. The same question can be sent to multiple models at once for comparative analysis, while automatic conversation compression preserves key information as a conversation grows. Markdown rendering supports syntax highlighting, LaTeX formulas, tables, and task lists, and the application includes an embedded Monaco code editor. Agent mode can perform multi-step work such as reading and writing files, running commands, and analyzing code.

Agent activity is limited to a designated workspace, and three permission levels control whether edits require approval, are accepted automatically, or proceed without prompts. A tool approval panel shows invocation requests in real time and provides per-item allow or deny controls. Session-level token usage and cost statistics are also available. AQBot is listed in the Windows section of MirrorNest, but the catalog links directly to the official release instead of hosting a mirrored copy, and its license is currently unknown.
