Robolinux's core pitch addresses the single biggest practical barrier to switching away from Windows: a specific piece of Windows software the user genuinely can't do without. It bundles a pre-configured virtualization setup (built around VirtualBox) that runs a full Windows environment seamlessly alongside the Linux desktop, letting Windows-only applications run essentially as if installed natively, while the rest of the system runs on Ubuntu LTS's stable, secure base. It's aimed particularly at small businesses that depend on Windows-only line-of-business software but want to move their general computing off Windows for cost or security reasons, offering Cinnamon, Xfce, and MATE desktop choices on the Linux side.
