UrBackup

UrBackup is a client-server network backup system that performs full and incremental image and file backups of clients over a LAN, with a web interface for managing jobs and restores.

Esta guía se elaboró a partir de la documentación oficial de UrBackup, enlazada arriba — verifica siempre ahí los nombres exactos de paquetes/versiones antes de ejecutar estos comandos en un servidor de producción, ya que las versiones de la distribución y del proyecto cambian con el tiempo.

  1. 1Add the UrBackup PPA (Ubuntu)

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:uroni/urbackup
    sudo apt-get update

  2. 2Install the server

    sudo apt-get install urbackup-server

    On Debian, download the .deb from urbackup.org instead and install with 'sudo dpkg -i urbackup-server*.deb && sudo apt-get -f install'.

  3. 3Open the web interface

    The server exposes its administration UI over plain HTTP by default.

    Browse to http://<server-ip>:55414 to continue setup.

  4. 4Complete initial setup

    Create an admin account under user settings (UrBackup ships with no default password, so do this immediately), then set the backup storage path.

  5. 5Add clients

    Install the UrBackup client on each machine to back up; it will auto-discover the server on the LAN, or you can add it manually by IP from the server's Status page.
