Beacon Locator

Beacon Locator is an open-source Android application in MirrorNest’s System Tools category. It uses nearby Bluetooth LE beacons as triggers for location-aware device behavior. A user can configure responses for when a selected beacon enters a region, leaves a region, or comes near the device.

Each supported event can have an unlimited number of assigned actions. Available actions include starting an application, opening a URL, obtaining the current location, and broadcasting an intent action. Beacon Locator can also switch the device between Normal and Silent sound modes. These actions connect beacon detection with applications, web addresses, location retrieval, intent broadcasts, or sound-mode changes.

The application supports Tasker actions, so event responses can be passed to Tasker for additional task automation. For example, a beacon detected in a bedroom can be used to enter Silent mode, while losing that beacon can return the device to Normal mode. This makes the tool suitable for configuring behavior around the presence or absence of supported nearby beacons.

Beacon Locator is distributed for Android as a System Tools entry rather than as a separate desktop or mobile platform package. MirrorNest stores a direct mirror of the official build and scans it for malware before publishing it. The catalog copy remains open-source and gives Android users access to the official build through MirrorNest’s download catalog.
