Acerca de
Mumble is an open-source communication application for Linux. It supports voice communication for gamers, podcast creators, and other groups that need to communicate across servers. Its uses include ordinary gaming conversations, larger group communication, and audio recording.
Mumble provides encrypted communication and public-key and private-key authentication by default. Setup wizards assist with tasks such as configuring a microphone. The software can also help users recognize friends when they join different servers.
For gaming, an in-game overlay can show who is speaking, the current time, and frames per second. Positional audio can make voices seem to come from the in-game locations of the people speaking. Its multi-channel audio recorder supports podcast recording, while administrators can self-host servers and use permissions to control how groups communicate.
Server APIs, scripts, music bots, and authenticators can extend a server or connect it with existing account systems. On MirrorNest, Mumble is listed for Linux in the Communication category. MirrorNest stores the official build directly on its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing, providing a catalog distribution that retains the software’s open-source licensing model.
