Acerca de

Port Authority is an open-source Android application for examining devices, ports, and basic network services. It is intended for network checks performed from an Android device and is listed in MirrorNest’s Security & Privacy category. Its functions combine local host discovery with broader checks of network endpoints in a single tool.

LAN host discovery searches for devices connected to the local network. Public IP discovery identifies the device’s public IP address. TCP port scans can be directed at hosts on a LAN or WAN, and custom port ranges allow a scan to focus on selected ports.

The scanner is heavily threaded, so scan work can be processed concurrently instead of waiting for each result in sequence. When a web service is found, Port Authority can open its HTTP or HTTPS address in a browser. Lightweight service fingerprinting identifies SSH and HTTP(S) server types and versions when that information is available. DNS lookups support almost every record type, adding a way to inspect network naming information.

The app also provides MAC address vendor detection and Wake-on-LAN for hosts on the local network. These capabilities place host discovery, port review, and basic service inspection together within an Android network utility. MirrorNest mirrors the official build directly onto its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing. The copy available through the catalog is therefore the official Android build as distributed through MirrorNest’s mirroring and checking process.
