Sugar on a Stick

Sugar on a Stick packages the Sugar desktop environment -- originally created for the One Laptop Per Child project's XO laptops, and designed around activities and collaboration rather than files and windows the way a conventional desktop is -- onto a bootable USB image built on Fedora. A child can carry their Sugar environment, complete with their own saved work and settings, on an inexpensive USB or SD card between a home computer, a school computer, and a library computer, without needing a dedicated device. It remains actively stewarded by Sugar Labs and used in education-focused deployments, particularly in settings inspired by or connected to the original OLPC mission of expanding computing access to children in under-resourced regions.
