Proxmox Backup Server

  1. 1Download the installer ISO

    Proxmox Backup Server downloads ↗

  2. 2Write it to a USB drive and boot from it

    Follow the graphical installer -- disk, timezone, and root password.

    sudo dd if=proxmox-backup-server_*.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=1M status=progress conv=fsync

  3. 3Open the web UI

    https://<the-server's-ip>:8007

  4. 4Add a datastore and connect it from Proxmox VE

    Create a Datastore under the Datastore panel, then on your Proxmox VE host, add this server as a Storage of type "Proxmox Backup Server" using its address and the datastore name.
