Solus

Solus is built entirely from scratch with its own package manager (eopkg) and its own binary repositories, explicitly targeting home desktop and laptop users rather than servers -- there's no official Solus server edition. It's the birthplace of the Budgie desktop environment, which Solus's own team originated and continues to lead development on, even as other distributions (like Ubuntu Budgie) have since adopted it. Its rolling-release model updates continuously like Arch or Tumbleweed, but Solus curates its own repository more tightly than Arch does, favoring a smaller, more tested package set over Arch's sheer breadth.
