boum is an open-source Android music app for Jellyfin media servers. It allows users to stream their own music remotely wherever they are. It is intended for people who manage their music through Jellyfin and want a dedicated mobile listening experience.

The app supports downloading favourite albums for listening in offline mode. Its cross-navigation connects albums, artists, and the current player, allowing users to move between related parts of their library. Artist screens can show recommendations for similar artists, while album screens can provide suggestions for similar albums. Unified search gives users one way to look across the available music.

Playback includes basic queue management and a sleep timer. Users can save the current queue and return to it later, which can be useful when listening to audiobooks. Streaming limits and selectable quality settings are available separately for WiFi and mobile connections. boum can also start a scan for new music on the Jellyfin server and re-scan music libraries when needed.

Chromecast support lets users send playback to compatible Chromecast devices. As an Android application in the Video & Media Players category, boum combines Jellyfin library access, music playback, downloads, and remote streaming in a mobile platform context.
