HTTP Request Shortcuts

HTTP Request Shortcuts is an open-source Android application for placing shortcuts or widgets on the home screen that send HTTP requests to RESTful APIs, web services, and other URL resources. It is intended for users who need direct access to repeatable web requests without manually composing each request. The tool fits the System category by connecting Android home-screen actions with network services, scripts, automation systems, and devices.

It supports HTTP and HTTPS along with GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH, HEAD, OPTIONS, and TRACE methods. Authentication options include Basic, Digest, Bearer, and client certificate authentication, while custom headers and text-based request bodies can be configured for individual requests. Files can be uploaded as form-data or as a request body, and the application supports HTTP proxies and self-signed certificates. Responses can appear as a toast, window, or dialog, or the request can run silently, while built-in icons, custom icons, site favicons, and tab-based grouping help organize shortcuts.

Variables allow values such as text, numbers, passwords, selections, colors, and dates to be inserted into requests. JavaScript can run before and after execution to show dialogs or toasts, request user input, parse JSON or XML, compute HMAC values, store global variables, vibrate the device, play notification sounds, and perform other listed actions. These actions also include sending TCP or UDP packets, sending MQTT messages, waking devices over a network, sending Android intents, triggering Tasker tasks, reading QR codes through a third-party app, and reading the current physical location. Requests and configurations can be imported or exported in JSON or cURL format, and the application supports third-party integration such as Tasker and includes a Dark Mode.

HTTP Request Shortcuts can be used to execute a script on a web server, control home automation and IoT devices, interact with Raspberry Pi or Arduino projects, automate workflows, or download files.
