Network Security Toolkit (NST)

Network Security Toolkit narrows its focus to the network layer specifically: packet capture and analysis (Wireshark, tcpdump), intrusion detection, network mapping, and traffic visualization, wrapped in its own Web User Interface (NST WUI) for managing many of these tools from a browser rather than the command line alone. It's built on Fedora's RPM package base and is commonly deployed as a dedicated network-monitoring appliance -- plugged into a span/mirror port to watch traffic -- rather than as a general penetration-testing workstation like Kali or Parrot. Its scope is narrower than a full pentesting distro by design, trading breadth for depth on network visibility specifically.
