Void Linux

Void Linux is built completely from scratch rather than deriving from Debian, Arch, or any other distribution, with its own binary package manager (XBPS) and its own build system for packages, giving it a genuinely independent technical lineage that's rare among rolling-release distributions. It uses runit as its init system rather than systemd, a deliberate design choice that draws a specific segment of users who prefer a smaller, simpler init system over systemd's larger scope. Its rolling-release model and musl-libc build variant (in addition to the standard glibc build) also make it a popular base for users who want Alpine-like minimalism with a more conventional, non-Alpine package ecosystem.
