Cannonball is a Linux multimedia program that provides an enhanced version of Yu Suzuki’s arcade racing game OutRun. It is not an emulator, but a complete rewrite of the original game in portable C++. The program is intended for people who want to play this rewritten version on a Linux system.

Its features include 60 frames-per-second gameplay, true widescreen mode with a 25 percent larger play area, high-resolution sprite scaling, and additional camera views.
