Graphs

Graphs turns numerical data into plots that can be examined, edited, and prepared for publication or presentation. Data can be imported from many file types, entered through an equation, and then adjusted directly within the program. Selection, cutting, translation, multiplication, centering, smoothing, and custom transformations let users reshape datasets before plotting.

Imported data supports curve fitting, while customizable stylesheets control the appearance of curves, axes, labels, and other plot elements. Completed graphs can be saved in multiple formats, including vector images that can be refined in Inkscape for polished documents or slides. These tools make Graphs useful for students learning data analysis, researchers testing measurements, and anyone who needs an editable visual representation of calculated or collected data.

Published by Sjoerd Stendahl, Graphs is an open-source Education program for Linux. It is designed around the GNOME environment but can also be used with other desktop environments. The current version is 1.8.7.

Running it requires Linux with snapd on an x86_64 (amd64) system. Its combination of equation-based generation, hands-on data manipulation, curve fitting, and publication-ready export distinguishes it from plotting software limited to fixed input data or basic chart styling.
