MyHackerspace (New)

MyHackerspace (New) is an open-source Android app for viewing information about hackerspaces and makerspaces listed in the SpaceAPI directory. It is intended for people who want directory-based details about these spaces on an Android device. Its Internet & Browsers category reflects its focus on accessing and presenting information from an online directory.

The app shows location and contact information for registered spaces. It also displays each space’s opening status and available sensor values. An Android home-screen widget provides the current open or closed status without requiring the full app view. These features support checking space information and status from an Android device.

MyHackerspace was originally developed in 2012 by @rorist from the FIXME Lausanne hackspace. In 2021, development moved to the SpaceAPI community repositories, and members of Coredump now mainly develop the app. Its open-source license aligns it with the community-based development described in its history.

MirrorNest distributes the official build directly from its own storage. Before publishing the build, MirrorNest scans it for malware, providing a catalog distribution path for this Android application.
