Linux Lite positions itself squarely as a Windows-refugee's first distribution: it only ever tracks Ubuntu's LTS releases (never the interim six-month ones), prioritizing years of uninterrupted stability over having the newest packages. Its Xfce desktop is arranged with a Windows-like taskbar and start menu, and it ships a first-run 'Welcome' app and a curated Lite Software collection that walks new users through installing common everyday applications. Its own documentation wiki is written specifically for people with no prior Linux experience, down to explaining basic terminal concepts.
