Rather than shipping one general-purpose OS, TurnKey GNU/Linux publishes a whole catalog of purpose-built appliance images, each one a minimal Debian install pre-configured and hardened for a single job -- a LAMP stack, WordPress, GitLab, a file server, a mail server, and dozens more. Every appliance gets automatic daily security updates and a consistent first-boot configuration wizard (TKLBAM for backup/migration included), so deploying a known-good WordPress server takes minutes rather than a manual Debian install plus hours of setup. Images are available as ISOs, pre-built VM images for most major hypervisors, and cloud marketplace listings (AWS, among others), all built from fully open sources.
