Homebridge

  1. 1Run the official container

    Host networking is required for HomeKit's device-discovery protocol (Bonjour/mDNS) to work correctly.

    docker run -d \ --name homebridge \ --network host \ -e TZ=Etc/UTC \ -v ./homebridge:/homebridge \ --restart unless-stopped \ homebridge/homebridge:latest

  2. 2Complete setup through the Homebridge UI

    The bundled Homebridge Config UI X web dashboard runs on port 8581 and walks through creating an admin account.

  3. 3Install plugins for your specific devices

    Homebridge itself does nothing on its own -- individual community plugins (there are thousands) add support for specific brands and protocols, installed and configured entirely from the web UI's Plugins tab.
