Windows 10 Pro reached the same October 14, 2025 end-of-support date as Home, but businesses running Pro (or Enterprise) have access to the traditional paid Extended Security Updates program, which can extend critical security patches up to three years further (through October 2028) rather than the single free consumer year Home got. For a business still running Windows 10 Pro today, ESU should be treated as a bridge to actually finish migrating to Windows 11, not a long-term plan -- each year of ESU typically costs more than the last under Microsoft's standard pricing.
