RPClient

RPClient is an open-source AI role-playing chat client for Android. It is designed for people who want to manage character-based conversations and related content on their mobile device. The app follows a local-first approach, with chat histories, characters, lorebooks, and app settings stored locally by default.

It supports importing Character Card V1 and V2 files in JSON and PNG formats, along with exporting Character Card V2 in those formats. Users can import and export SillyTavern-style lorebooks. Conversations may be one-on-one or involve multiple characters in group chats. Chat controls include streaming responses, regeneration, continuation, and impersonation.

RPClient provides long-term summary memory, prompt presets, macro expansion, prompt inspection, and token budgeting. It also supports global and character-scoped regex scripts, as well as a local request log debugging mode. The interface uses Material 3 and supports multiple interface languages.

The application does not provide model services itself. Users create configurations for OpenAI-compatible APIs, Gemini, Anthropic Messages, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or custom endpoints, with requests sent directly to the service they select. As an Android title in the AI Tools category, RPClient is suited to users who need a mobile client for their own model configurations and role-playing data. MirrorNest mirrors the official build directly to its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing. The project is under active development, so important cards, lorebooks, and chats should be backed up before upgrading.
