Budgie
Ubuntu Budgie brings the Budgie desktop -- originally developed for the independent Solus distribution -- to Ubuntu's package base as an official flavor. Budgie's headline feature is Raven, a slide-out sidebar combining notifications, a calendar, sound/media controls, and customizable applets in one panel, distinct from how GNOME or Plasma handle the same functionality. The desktop favors a clean, uncluttered default layout while remaining fully themeable, and the flavor otherwise inherits everything else -- release cadence, package availability, hardware support -- directly from Ubuntu.
