LibreHealth Essential Care For Every Baby is an open-source Android application for clinical decision support in essential newborn care. It is designed for nurses and doctors working with newborns in low- and middle-income settings. The application supports care from birth through the first 24 hours after birth.

Nurses and doctors can track multiple babies at the same time. Recording each birth time creates an essential newborn care clock for every baby being followed. Observations and assessments made during the first two hours are used to automatically classify each baby’s health status. The application provides management advice based on that classification and sends reminders or alerts for recommended essential newborn care interventions. When an intervention is late or not delivered, it records information about why it was delayed or missed.

The application organizes assessments, classifications, advice, reminders, and intervention records within the immediate newborn-care period. It uses DHIS2 as its backend and can be set up for a hospital or other organization.
