概要

Google Authenticator is an Android system tool that adds a second verification step to online account sign-ins. It generates a verification code on the phone, which is entered alongside the account password. Codes can be generated without a network or cellular connection. The app is intended for people who use accounts protected by this additional verification step.

Authenticator accounts can be added automatically by scanning a QR code, with camera access needed for this setup. The app supports multiple accounts, allowing codes for different accounts to be managed in one place. It supports both time-based and counter-based code generation. Accounts can also be transferred between devices with a QR code, and codes can be synced to a Google Account and across devices.
