CloudLinux OS targets one specific, high-value niche: shared hosting providers who need to stop one customer's misbehaving website or script from starving every other account on the same physical server. Its core feature, LVE (Lightweight Virtualized Environment), enforces per-account CPU, memory, and I/O limits directly in the kernel, something a stock RHEL-compatible distribution has no equivalent for. It's paid software (with tiered licensing based on server scale) and is the underlying OS on a large share of the shared-hosting industry's servers, including many cPanel and Plesk-managed hosts, even though most site owners never interact with it directly.
