That makes it a popular choice for small businesses and power users who want Ubuntu-like stability with a different governance model (SUSE, a European company, rather than Canonical). It's built and managed with YaST, SUSE's long-running unified system-configuration tool, which covers everything from partitioning to firewall rules in one graphical interface. It offers official KDE Plasma and GNOME desktop options at install time, and its rolling-release sibling, openSUSE Tumbleweed, targets users who want the same tooling with continuously updated packages instead.
