  1. 1Home Assistant add-on method

    In Home Assistant, go to Settings, then the Add-on Store, search for ESPHome and click Install, then Start, then Open Web UI.

  2. 2Standalone Docker method (alternative)

    docker run --rm --net=host -v "${PWD}":/config -it ghcr.io/esphome/esphome

    --net=host enables mDNS device discovery on Linux; Docker Desktop users should use -p 6052:6052 instead. Dashboard runs at http://localhost:6052.

  3. 3Create a device configuration

    Use the dashboard's New Device wizard, or write a YAML file by hand, to define your board and the sensors/components it exposes.

  4. 4Compile and flash

    Use the dashboard's Install button (or the esphome CLI) to build firmware and flash it to the device over USB or OTA.
