Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC

LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) exists for exactly one purpose: devices that need to keep running the same software configuration for years without Microsoft pushing new features, a new Start menu, or new bundled apps into it -- point-of-sale terminals, ATMs, medical devices, and industrial control systems, where an unexpected UI or behavior change is a real operational risk. It receives security patches on the normal monthly cadence but no feature updates for its full 10-year support lifetime, in exchange for giving up features that assume continuous updates (like the Microsoft Store's default apps). It's licensed specifically for embedded/IoT device manufacturers, not sold as a general desktop OS.
