Beetroot is a free clipboard manager for Windows in the Productivity category. It keeps an unlimited history of copied text and images, allowing users to revisit content after it leaves the active clipboard. It is designed for people who frequently copy, reuse, inspect, or organize material while working in Windows applications.

A global Ctrl+` hotkey opens the clipboard history for quick access. Fuzzy search and regular expression search help users locate specific entries, while the clipboard popup preserves focus in the target application until a control requires input. Its preview panel supports plain text, code with line numbers, and images with zoom. Clipboard entries can also contain notes, and multiple entries can be selected for batch operations.

Beetroot provides AI-powered text transforms through OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Ollama or another local large language model. It can extract text from images with OCR and offers a plain text paste hotkey for inserting content without formatting. A system-wide Copied overlay shows clipboard activity, with a customizable position, adjustable duration, and six exit animations. The application supports 26 languages and non-QWERTY layouts including AZERTY, QWERTZ, and AltGr keyboards.

The interface includes nine themes, a custom accent color, and window effects. These options, together with the history, search, preview, and transformation tools, place Beetroot within Windows productivity software rather than a general file utility.
