My Price Log

My Price Log is an open-source Android application for keeping local records of product prices at different stores. It is intended for shoppers who want to enter prices while shopping and compare costs across stores. Users can create a store list and a product list, then add, update, or confirm prices for the products they find.

When a product is available at multiple stores, the application displays its unit price for each relevant store to support direct comparison. Store-specific loyalty discounts can be recorded and applied to adjust unit prices during those comparisons. Each recorded price is tracked by age, and older records are marked with icons. The application also applies a simplistic inflation adjustment to older prices, although updating prices provides the best results.

Users can inspect the history of a price to see how it has changed over time. When enough information is available, My Price Log classifies a price as good, OK, or bad, while continuing to show unit prices for the user’s own assessment. Automatic unit conversion works within and between metric, imperial, and US customary measurement systems.
