During a trip, Polarsteps can automatically track the route on a digital world map. Travel Buddies can be invited to track a journey together, and each step can include photos, videos, and stories. Travel stats record countries visited and distances covered, while users can add favorite places, activities, and transport modes such as planes, trains, or tuk tuks.

Polarsteps also provides ways to share and revisit travel memories. Trip updates allow friends and family to follow progress, traveler tips let users suggest places and activities, and privacy controls determine whether an adventure is visible to everyone, followers only, or the user alone. Past journeys can be reviewed through their places, photos, stories, and stats, or turned into Trip Reels and printed Travel Books.
