Cake (C# Make)

Cake (C# Make) is an open-source build automation system for Linux. It uses a domain-specific language based on C# to define and run development tasks. It is intended for developers who need to coordinate common steps in a software build process.

Cake can compile code, copy files and folders, run unit tests, compress files, and build NuGet packages. The Linux package exposes the Cake .NET tool through the dotnet-cake command, matching the command name used by the upstream tool. It does not include Cake Frosting or the Cake SDK.

As a Developer Tools package, Cake fits Linux environments where build work is managed from the command line.
