Sobre

UltraStar WorldParty is an open-source singing game for Linux in the Music & Audio category. It allows up to six players to sing along with music using microphones. Players receive scores based on how closely their vocal pitch and singing rhythm match the expected performance. This makes the software suitable for group singing sessions where several people take turns or perform together.

The game uses song folders and playlists as part of its setup. In the Linux Snap installation, the configuration file, default song folder, and playlist folder are located under ~/snap/ultrastar-worldparty/current/.ultrastar-worldparty. Additional song locations can be configured with the SongDir1 option in config.ini, including paths in the home directory and system mount folders such as /media on Ubuntu distributions. USB or Bluetooth devices can be used for microphones, gamepads, joysticks, and keyboards.

UltraStar WorldParty can use a webcam to show the singer’s image as the background instead of the original song video. It also uses network access to connect with UltraStar España for downloading or sending scores. The game is developed by the UltraStar España team, which provides songs, information, and help through its website. Development information is available through the project’s GitHub repository, while support questions and error reports can be handled through the project forum or GitHub.

MirrorNest distributes the official Linux build directly from its own storage and scans it for malware before publishing it. This gives Linux users a catalog download that corresponds to the official build while fitting the Music & Audio category. If an error contains unreadable numbers or letters, the debug executable can be run with the command snap run ultrastar-worldparty-debug to produce a human-readable message. The open-source license also places the game within a software model where its development is publicly maintained through the project’s online resources.
