Aptana Studio

Aptana Studio is an open-source integrated development environment for building Ajax web applications on Windows. It is intended for developers working with web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, the Document Object Model, and CSS. Based on Eclipse, it brings source editing, project work, and development utilities into one environment. Additional plugins extend its language and platform support to Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python, Perl, Adobe AIR, Apple iPhone, and Nokia WRT.

The editor provides code assistance for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and Ruby, including support for current HTML5 specifications. It can show the level of browser support associated with HTML elements, helping developers review compatibility while authoring pages. Its integrated debuggers support JavaScript and Ruby on Rails work through breakpoints, variable inspection, and execution controls. A built-in terminal gives access to operating-system commands and language utilities such as gem and rake.
