About MirrorNest & how we verify files
MirrorNest is a catalog of software and drivers for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. We don't accept uploads: every listing comes from the software's publisher or an established open-source repository.
Where the files come from
WinGet, Chocolatey, Homebrew Cask, the Snap Store, Flathub, F-Droid and IzzyOnDroid, projects' own GitHub releases, manufacturers' driver catalogs, the Microsoft Update Catalog and the SDIO driver packs. Commercial software is never hosted here — its page links to the official site.
How every file is checked
Each file is downloaded from its source, compared with the source's own checksum when one is published, and scanned with ClamAV (signatures updated daily) before it appears on the site. Password-protected archives are rejected. The SHA-256 of every file is shown on its page, so you can verify your download in the browser.
What we read from the files
Compatibility details come from the files themselves: an APK's minimum Android version and processor architecture, a Windows program's minimum Windows version where it can be proven, the hardware IDs inside each driver's INF files. When something can't be proven, we don't state it.
How the descriptions are written
Descriptions are drafted with AI from the publisher's own information and the facts above, and are not allowed to invent features. Editor's notes — marked and dated on the page — are written by people who have used the software.
What we never do
No download managers, no bundled offers, no repackaged installers. The only change we make to a file is removing third-party web shortcuts from community driver packs.
Corrections and takedowns
Every file page has a report link, and rights holders can use the DMCA page. Takedown requests are handled within 24 hours.
