About
Arq (Trial) (Install) automatically backs up selected files or an entire Windows computer to cloud storage or a server, helping users recover data after accidental deletion, hardware failure, or other loss. It encrypts file data on the computer before sending it anywhere, using an encryption password chosen by the user. Transfers are protected with SSL/TLS, and the provider does not have access to the backed-up files.
The backup data is stored in an open, documented format instead of a proprietary container. An open-source command-line utility can inspect those backups and restore files directly from cloud storage, while compatible tools such as arqinator provide additional ways to work with them. Compression, client-side deduplication, and rolling checksums reduce upload traffic by sending only changed portions of files.
Users can choose individual files or back up everything, including videos, files of any size, and content on external drives. Destinations include Amazon Cloud Drive, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Storage, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SFTP servers, and NAS devices. The native Windows application is aimed at individuals and organizations protecting local computers with their own storage accounts or servers, and it is published by Haystack Software LLC as version 7.51.0.0 in the Backup & Recovery category. This demo trial has a paid edition with additional features.

What's new in v7.51.0.0
Improvements - Arq Premium's email report limits now apply to each backup plan instead of to the whole computer, so a report from one backup plan no longer holds back a report from another. - The Edit Backup Plan window now explains Arq Premium's email report limits when Arq Premium sends the reports, with a "Learn More..." link to the help. Bug Fixes - Arq Pro: Fixed a computer no longer syncing with Arq Pro after a failed license refresh (for example, because of a network error) until a later refresh succeeded or the Arq7Agent service restarted.
