Dorso monitors your posture in real time on macOS and progressively blurs your screen when it detects slouching, with the blur disappearing instantly when you sit correctly. It can track posture through your Mac’s camera using Apple’s Vision framework or through motion sensors in AirPods. AirPods tracking works without the camera on AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, or third-generation and newer AirPods, provided the Mac runs macOS 14 or later.

The app lives in the menu bar, where you can see states such as Monitoring, Slouching, and Good Posture, enable or pause monitoring, recalibrate your baseline, open Settings, or quit. Settings offer five sensitivity levels from Low to Very High and five Dead Zone levels from None to Very Large, controlling how much slouching is tolerated before blurring begins. You can also blur the display when you move away from the camera, pause automatically when the laptop display becomes the only screen, and choose to show Dorso in the Dock and Command-Tab switcher. It supports all connected monitors and runs in the background with minimal resource use.

Dorso suits Mac users who want a persistent visual reminder during desk work, study, or other seated tasks. Camera Mode requires camera permission, while AirPods Mode requires Motion & Fitness Activity permission and macOS 14 or newer. Version 1.15.1 is freeware for Intel and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 Ventura or later, and the app requires no account; it uses no cloud service or tracking.
