JetBrains dotMemory lets developers watch an application’s memory consumption on a live timeline while profiling is underway. It helps locate leaks, excessive allocation, and garbage-collection behavior in .NET and .NET Core software before those problems degrade an application. The profiler covers desktop applications, Windows services, ASP.NET web applications, IIS, IIS Express, and other .NET processes.

During a session, users can gather allocation data when needed and capture a memory snapshot with one click without halting profiling. They can compare snapshots to see how memory changes and inspect memory traffic for a chosen time interval. Automatic inspections flag common memory problems in a snapshot and offer guidance for tracing their causes. For deeper analysis, criteria can be combined to drill into memory data through different slices, pivots, and related views.

Timeline and traffic analysis reveal excessive allocations and garbage collections, including which objects were allocated or collected and which methods remain connected with those events. This suits .NET developers diagnosing leaks, unexplained memory growth, and allocation hotspots in local applications, services, and web workloads. JetBrains publishes this Windows Developer Tools software as freeware, with the current version numbered 2026.2.1.
