kitshn (for Tandoor) is an open-source Android app for organizing recipes and related cooking tasks. It is suited to people who want to manage recipes, plan meals, and prepare shopping lists in one place. The app includes a dynamic home screen and a user interface built with Compose and Material 3 Expressive.

Its interface supports Material You customization and adaptive layouts for phones, tablets, and foldables. Recipes can use Markdown, include videos inside individual steps, and open through app links. Cooking mode helps present recipes while cooking, and timers can be created through timer detection. Recipes can also be imported, including from social media through an AI-powered import feature, or by sharing links with kitshn.

The app provides an ingredient allocation tool, meal planning, and shopping lists with a dedicated shopping mode. Offline sync supports continued use when a connection is unavailable. Recipe books and a favorites system provide additional ways to organize saved recipes.
