Material Files1.7.5

Browse and manage files on an Android device through a clear filesystem view with Material Files, a lightweight interface shaped by Material Design guidelines. Breadcrumb navigation shows the current path and lets you return to earlier directories without retracing every step.

The app opens, extracts, and creates common compressed archives, while customizable colors, night mode, and an optional true-black appearance adjust how the file list looks. For remote storage, it connects to FTP, SFTP, SMB, and WebDAV servers, including NAS devices. It understands symbolic links, file permissions, and SELinux context, so it can represent important Linux filesystem details instead of treating every entry as an ordinary file.

Material Files uses Linux system calls rather than depending on another parser for ls output, and its implementation is built around the Java NIO2 File API and LiveData. It is open-source software for Android 6.0 and later, with arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 builds; the current version is 1.7.5.

This release adds Shizuku support and introduces Danish and Galician translations. ZIP creation now uses AES-256 encryption instead of ZipCrypto, while other bug fixes and improvements are included. The Material Design 2 theme may be removed in the upcoming 1.8.0 release.
