Nihonoari: Hiragana & Katakana1.8.1

Practice recognizing and memorizing the Japanese hiragana and katakana syllabaries through Nihonoari: Hiragana & Katakana’s deliberately small training experience. It concentrates on reading and recalling these two writing systems, instead of expanding into vocabulary, grammar, or broader Japanese-language lessons.

The app uses an ultra-minimal interface and a focused feature set to keep kana practice clear and direct. Its design leaves out advertising, in-app purchases, and extra functions that do not serve memorization. Nihonoari is suited to beginners learning the kana for the first time, as well as students who want a compact practice tool for short study sessions.

Built with Flutter, the Android app runs on Android 4.4 and newer devices and supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, and x86_64 architectures. Version 1.8.1 introduces a new light theme and a dark theme optimized for OLED displays, giving users two updated visual options during practice. The project is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0.
