Scale Practice2.9.2

Choose a scale at random and use it as the basis for a focused practice session rather than deciding what to play each time. Scale Practice can draw from major, natural minor, harmonic minor, melodic minor, major-mode, blues, pentatonic, octatonic, and whole-tone collections. You can also enter or select a custom group of scales when you want practice to follow a particular repertoire or curriculum.

The app includes arpeggio exercises alongside its scale selections, extending practice beyond linear patterns. Its reference section pairs scale images with written descriptions, so you can review the structure and appearance of a selection while working through it. These tools suit musicians practicing independently, preparing lessons, or adding variety to routine technique work.

As an education app, Scale Practice is built with React Native and is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The current release is 2.9.1, and the project is open-source under the MIT license.

For Android, it requires version 7.0 or later; the developer’s project information references SDK 21, corresponding to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Supported processor builds are arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86.
