Capture personal audio as high-quality M4A files, then arrange it by subject instead of leaving recordings in a flat list. SoundTree Recorder shows a live waveform while you record and lets you pause and continue in the same file, with a page-like waveform view that makes the timeline easy to scan. You can save an active recording from the notification even when the screen is locked.

Marks can be placed during recording or playback to flag moments for later review. Recordings fit into a hierarchical topic tree with nesting to any depth, so broad subjects can contain increasingly specific material. The app can automatically back up recordings to an external drive or USB device, and audio passthrough to earphones supports monitoring an input while recording.
