Twili Recipes turns copied recipe text or a manually written recipe into an organized cooking record, using ChatGPT-assisted language processing to identify ingredients, quantities, and instructions. It accepts recipes in all languages and lets cooks adjust ingredient amounts when the serving count changes, then follow the resulting directions through a dedicated cooking view. Its compact recipe presentation is designed to reduce scrolling while preparing food.

Recipes can remain on the device or synchronize through a personal Nextcloud instance, making them available across devices. The project supports mobile and desktop use, while the Android release is open-source and aimed at home cooks who want to collect recipes from online pages, prepare them manually, or share a personal library between devices. ChatGPT is supported today, and the architecture allows additional cloud and language-model services to be added.

Available model services include a rate-limited OpenAI API option with a shared token, a ChatGPT option using GPT-3.5 Turbo or GPT-4 Turbo, Claude using claude-3-5-sonnet-20240620, and Perplexity. GPT-4 Turbo handles more unusual cases but is slower, while GPT-3.5 Turbo is faster and can align grammatical ingredient forms in some languages; other models may require manual correction. Models can occasionally confuse ingredients with identical names, although GPT-4 sometimes distinguishes them correctly.

Version 0.2.10 requires Android 7.0 or later and supports arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a, x86_64, and x86 devices; the project remains under development.
