Create vocabulary lists and practise them as flashcards to remember foreign-language words or definitions with VocableTrainer. Each answer is marked correct or incorrect, allowing the app to track training progress and show how well each entry has been learned. Entries can contain multiple meanings, so one word can cover several translations or definitions without being split into separate cards.

Practice can focus on entering one meaning, entering every meaning, or writing the answer on real paper while using the app as a prompt. Lists can be imported from and exported to spreadsheet-compatible CSV files, with full UTF-8 support for accented characters and other writing systems. The app is not tied to a particular language, making it suitable for language learners, students memorizing terminology, and anyone studying word-and-definition pairs. Dark mode is available on Android 8.1 and newer.

VocableTrainer is open-source Education software for Android, currently version 0.8.2, and supports Android 5.1 or later on Universal architecture. Internet access is used only for an opt-in survey and opt-in crash reporting, while questions and bug reports can be submitted through the project’s issue tracker or by email. The current release fixes a crash that could occur when rotating a newly created list.
