WarnWetter5.2.1

WarnWetter shows Germany’s current weather and warning situation, so users can check active hazards for a chosen location before travel or outdoor activities. Published by Deutscher Wetterdienst, this freeware Android app provides warning details down to the municipal level. It is intended for people who need local information during severe weather, from residents monitoring home to travelers crossing affected regions.

In the free version, users can save their GPS location and other places as favorites, configure warning elements and levels, and receive push alarms for selected conditions. Coverage includes floods, storm surges, avalanches, coast warnings, Bavarian lakes, Lake Constance, and predicted thunderstorm-cell trajectories. Severe-weather events may include videos, while users can customize the start page, widgets, wind-speed units, and light or dark appearance.

A one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full version’s maps, which show current conditions and forecasts up to seven days ahead. Map layers include precipitation, clouds, lightning, wind, temperatures, station measurements, and other data, with time controls from past through future and combinations of weather elements. The full version also adds forecasts and measurements, sun and moon rise and set times, and text reports for German federal states, coastal and sea areas, the Alps, and Lake Constance.

Version 5.2.1 adds pollen-load displays for favorites and notifications when pollen levels rise, features available only in the full version. It also introduces new flood-warning zones with push alerts for favorites, more detailed storm-surge warnings with push notifications, and separate North and South Bavaria weather reports; the Bavaria split is available only in the full version.

Free to use — a paid version with additional features is also available.
